Somatheeram Ayurvedic Health Resort
After careful research, we have chosen the Somatheeram Ayurvedic Health Resort as the ideal location for our yoga and meditation retreat. The first thing which attracted us is the vibration. At Somatheeram we found not only a beautiful location directly on the ocean, but also a calm, sweet, rejuvenating atmosphere vastly different from tourist destinations.
Somatheeram is a certified Gold Leaf Ayurvedic facility, which is the highest classification. It has also been recognized as the best Ayurvedic resort in Kerala for the past four years. The staff are excellently trained and very serviceful. The doctors and therapists have extensive experience.
Although the resort is frequented primarily by Westerners, the atmosphere remains thoroughly Keralan. It is small, with about 50 cottages and Keralan houses.
It includes an Ayurvedic clinic with 30 therapy rooms, 12 doctors and 70 massage therapists.
The grounds are lush with palms trees, tropical plants and flowers, and green lawns, which are terraced down to a point just above the beach. All of the facilities are maintained to a high standard of hygiene.
The BeachThe beach is in part private and shared with three other resorts, one of which is also owned and managed by Somatheeram. The beach is never crowded. Chairs, umbrellas, and towels are provided. The public part of the long beach is used by fishermen who take their wooden boats out at night. They come back in the early morning, and it is fascinating to see them bringing in their nets and their fish. The Ocean water is warm, clean, but not always ideal for bathing due to strong currents. Life guards are on duty from 7:00 until 18:00 every day. Ananda Associazione
Ananda Associazione is a non-profit association (affiliated with CO.N.A.C.R.E.I.S) dedicated to promoting social welfare through the practices of yoga, meditation, and Self-realization. Anyone who supports the ideals of Self-realization, world brotherhood, and physical, mental, and spiritual harmony through meditation, yoga, and service is welcome.
According to Italian law Ananda’s programs and hospitality can be offered only to “association members.” All of these programs are established in the art.3 of the Statuto dell’Ananda Associazione, and in conformity with L. 383/2000 of Associazioni di Promozione Sociale. They are reserved to members of Ananda Associazione - APS (Art. 7 L.135/2001 and Art. 31 L. 383/2000)
