International Family Week — Expanded Horizons
Special Guest Teacher: Nitai Michael Deranja, founder of Ananda Schools

25 July - 1 August 2010 (in Italian with English and German translation)

Parents and teachers, don’t miss this opportunity to be with Nitai Deranja who, as a teacher and parent, took Yogananda’s how-to-live principles for education and applied them to the education of Ananda’s first children, and the founding of the first school. Thirty-five years later, the schools have a large campus at Ananda Village, those first children, and hundreds that followed them, have gone on to happy, successful lives, and Nitali has written For Goodness Sake.

Children and adults alike will be expanding their horizons throughout the week, with yoga, art, music, theatre and challenging nature excursions.

The Family Programs are open for children between the ages of 4 and 18 (included).

This year there will be also a separate program for teens, a Scouts Camp, guided by Kabir Mc Dowell and Ben Rayner, from July 18 until July 23.

A deposit of € 100.00 per adults is required to confirm your reservation.

This summer Ananda Assisi will be greatly honored by the presence of Nayaswami Nitai Michael Deranja, who will be leading the family week. In 1968 Nitai, inspired by the educational ideals of Paramhansa Yogananda and empowered by Swami Kriyananda, introduced a new way of relating to children and education, that has since materialized in several Living Wisdom Schools in the United States, Ananda Assisi and India and in universities in California and Oregon. Nitai is the author of For Goodness Sake, in which he describes a lifelong experience in supporting children and teens in discovering life’s highest values. A college graduate and a parent himself, Nitai has trained, inspired and counseled innumerable parents and teachers from all parts of society. His presence at the family week is a sure blessing and you are all invited not to miss it!

To be in the Ananda community is very important for us. My wife and I, and all our children, feel this unconditional love Ananda gives us. Every time we are here, we expand. Love and understanding grow. This inner joy that we find here is a flame that burns continually for us. We feel at home here. Ananda is an important part of our family. — Walburga and Artur, Germany
