The Joy and Enchantment of Indian Vegetarian Cooking

The journey: from the mouth-watering street food of Benares to the huge crackling frying pans of Chandni Chawk market in Old Delhi; peeking into the private kitchens of Punjab in North India and of Gujarath on the west Coast; stopping at the Dhabas along the long routes from North to South, and continuing down to the Palace of the gourmet Maharaja of Indore, in Central India.

This extraordinary journey among the magical flavours of real India was lived and loved by Cecilia during her 11 years of traveling and 6 years of living in India serving Yogananda in the Ananda community there.

She traveled widely, meeting people in their homes, fromĀ  remote villages of the country side to princely palaces. Finally, she married an Indian brahmin devotee, consequently receiving the trainingĀ  of a real Indian mother-in-law, an extraordinary alchemist of spices, colors and sublime flavours, in an enchantment of discoveries and pure joy.

It is with this same joy that we offer a weekend course with Cecilia Sharma, in the kitchen of her house near Ananda, for an experience which will touch new chords of your love, or even only curiosity, for India!

Note: Real Indian cooking implies cooked food, fried food, dairy products, peanuts, cashews, flours with gluten, salt and real sugar, which in this course will not be possible to substitue: sorry about that!

The yogic tradition teaches us that food can be a valuable tool to develop our highest potential. In this course, you will learn about the subtle aspects of nutrition and how to balance your diet to maintain a high level of energy and positivity.
The topics that we will cover reflect a harmonious union between modern science and ancient spirituality:

  • The acid-alkaline balance
  • The influence of various types of food on our thoughts and mood
  • The importance of the bio-energy value of foods
  • The close connection between mind and body, and mind and health

As part of the course, each student will receive a handout of study materials.
